Dexter Davison, B.A.

Flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet and piano instructor
An accomplished musician, Dexter started piano at the age of seven. In high school, he studied flute, trombone, French horn, and clarinet. He also won the opportunity to conduct the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. From there, he attended Florida State University, where he earned his Bachelors Degree in music, with a minor in Japanese. During his time there, he was a repeat soloist for their Prism Concert, section leader for the Marching Chiefs, and performed in various ensembles. Additional musical training included music theory, composition and arrangement, as well as world music experience in the Andean music ensemble and on the steel drums, where he was invited to perform at Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago.

Before graduating, Dexter spent a semester as a choral assistant in a special education chorus for adults. Rounding out his education, Dexter also became proficient on the saxophone, trumpet, baritone, and guitar. Following graduation, Dexter performed with the Tokai Wind Ensemble in Japan, was a street musician at the Georgia Renaissance Festival, and has played locally with the Atlanta Freedom Band. He has been commissioned twice to write music for weddings, and has also written music for video games.
